 Rounds 11 and 12 (SS) on the 10& 11-11-2012

The final two rounds of the I O W Car Club Sealed Surface championship were held at BAE on Saturday and IW College on the Sunday. It turned out to be a titanic battle over the weekend to decide all class titles and the overall sealed surface title. It was to be an on going battle between Dave Dutch,  Dave Goodwin, Toby Allen, Chris & Adam Greenen, Dave Bizzill and John Dutch for the fastest times, but from the start Dave Dutch in his DutchSpeed Modified Mini Pickup set the pace all weekend with increasingly quicker times to the point where he was 1.03 seconds ahead of the next driver Chris Greenen.

This was a massive amount as positions are normally decided by tenths of a second.

It looked like Dave was on a mission to let the others drivers know that the title was his and if they wanted it they would have to catch him first….Congratulations to Dave on a faultless drive all season.

ROUND 10 USS 28/10/2012 Knighton Sand Pit

Once again the weather forecast earlier in the week was wet and windy for the coming weekends racing to be held by the Isle of Wight Car Club but this was not going to put off  The hardy few racers that turned up to sort out who was going to win the final round of the (unsealed surface) championship classes and the overall (unsealed surface) championship titles..

The surface was wet and slippery for the first three runs but the rain stayed away and as the sand and dirt came off the surface. The track slowly dried out, the grip levels came up and the run times came down…

The Healey Weekend – 10th and 11th November.

The climax to the season is almost upon us, and this year we are expecting a bumper turnout with over 43 Healey’s coming down to the island of which probably 20 will be competing in what are the final 2 rounds of the 2012 calendar.

Round 11 will be on Saturday at BAE, then on Sunday we shall be at the College, after the event at the college we will retire to the Bargeman’s for a Beer and short awards ceremony to round off the weekend.

This is always by far the busiest event of the season; we will do our best to give you all 6 runs on both days, it is however dependant on how quickly we get started and how many people we have signed on.

To help make the day run as smoothly as possible we ask if as many people as possible can Sign on in advance via the payments page on the website, and when you arrive in the morning of each day to follow the instructions of the parking steward so we can dedicate as much space to the course as possible.

The Healey Club are staying at the Freshwater Bay House Hotel and will be having a disco on the Saturday night to which we are all invited to, they are hoping to see as many of us there as possible and since it bound to be an excellent night we hope you make the effort to come down for a beer!
